Re: fertilizer & mulch

Kim:
I know many of the letters will focus on types of mulch, but I am curious about your watering habits.

How are you watering? How long? How much? When?

What type of soil do you have?

When you say that you water everyday, but the ground is dry...is the ground dry on top or is a dry crust forming? Scrape the ground and see if the soil is moist underneath. I stick my index finger into the soil as far as I can...if the soil is moist...I don't water.

Can you explain more?

Good gardening,
Sheryl
