Re: Raised bed & puppy

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Judy,
What we've done is use a stake and chain when we cannot supervise our dog closely.  I know it sounds awful, as if we were people who leave their pets staked out in all kinds of weather and so forth.  But we have set it up carefully so that she can be in shade or sun, and so the end comes right up to our back door.  When she wants to come in, she scratches on the storm door (which now looks really lovely I can tell you!).  Her circle has no obstructions so she can't get caught on anything, and we can check on her from several windows.  We can go in and out doing yard work and know just where she is, we know she can't get to the mailman, etc.  Plus you know where to look for poops! <g>

Of course, we also take her out to play and run loose, but when we can watch closely and shoo her out of where she shouldn't be.
