Re: My Garden update!! (with a nice recipe at the end)

Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Actually, I'm quite envious of Margaret's tomatoe crop. Tomatoes
were the one thing I was hoping for "alot" of but alas I got my
starters in too late (first week of June) and after the first small
crop the Texas heat has kept all remaining blossoms from setting. (I
spent the month of May building beds and setting up the new garden
area. Next year I'll get them in the ground sooner.)

Thank goodness the cuke vines give some shade to the cherry tomatoes,
se weat least have those 'cept my youngest tends to chow them down in
the garden so few seem to make it to the dinner table.

At least my 16 plants of peppers (red bell, green bell, hot
banana, and jalepano) *love* the heat. They are all beaming with a
good steady crop.

Strawberries are bloomin again after steady harvest early July. Those
rarely make it inside either. :)

What I'd like to learn more about growing is a good patch of
blackberries. These used to grow wild behind the house I gew up
in. I think they take at least one full season before they
produce. I'd like to prep a trellis area along the back fence.

Any "berry" pointers or recommendations would be appreciated.
