Thanks, Ricky--I saw your previous explanation right after hitting the Send 
button on my inquiry.

I don't think cavolo nero is sold in the United States under that name at 
all, and I've never seen any references to "black kale" in seed catalogs 
either.

Does it taste like ordinary (green) kale?
