[I recommend that you save this message - it has useful
info about the list!]
Folks, don't post to the list every time you miss one or two days
of email from the list. First, the server we are running the list
on does occasionally have its downtime, and I am embarrassed to admit
(although I am not the sysadmin for the server itself)
that it could even last a day or two a couple of times per year.
If anyone ought there is in a position to offer something more stable,
I'm open to offers to move the list.
Second, if you are concerned that the problem is with your own
subscription, please do any of the following BEFORE asking the whole
list if everyone else has gotten messages lately:
1. Go to web site:
http://www.reference.com/cgi-bin/pn/listarch?list=SQFT@umslvma.umsl.edu
Don't enter anything into the Find box, but just press the
"Search" button, and you'll get a most-recent-first list of
the latest messages. That way you can see if there has been any
sqft list traffic you've missed.
(If you lose this address, it is linked from the sqft home page,
whose URL is now at the bottom of EVERY sqft message)
2. Email me directly. I can take a couple of days to get back to
you, though. If you don't want to wait that long, look through the
most recent messages you have received, and email the sender (everyone
who sends to the list is also a recipient) and ask that one person
rather than all 700 of us. I can tell you right now that I am
at least a few days behind on reading the list most of the time, so
the one way NOT to get a timely response from your list admin is
to post to the list itself!
3.If there is something seriously wrong (like when everyone got
many duplicate copies), send a message to:
listserv@umslvma.umsl.edu
with the single body line:
set sqft nomail
which will stop the flood into your mailbox, then also email
me directly (silvest@umslvma.umsl.edu) to let me know of the problem,
and that you would like me to re-activate you when the problem is
fixed (since you won't have any way to know!)
If you email me from an account/address different from the one
you get the sqft list sent to, be sure to let me know that!
I hope this helps.

PS. Judy, yes, the fact that you knew I'd be angry meant you
knew you were being a bad girl, which makes the transgression
all the worse! :-)
