Re: tomato cracks, bitter cucumbers

I have read that too much water while tomatoes are ripening can cause
them to crack (the fruit sucks up the water and the skin cracks). I
don't know about basil, but lots of folks around here (north shore of
MA) are planting beans and peas for a fall crop.

Melissa in MA, where I don't have to worry about overwatering my
ripening tomatoes, because they are stubbornly remaining green!
