Re: tomato cracks, bitter cucumbers


Dear Mark,

The problem you have with your tomatoes is common and is due to warm
rainy periods especially after a dry spell. The tomatoes simply expand
too fast. They are most likely to crack when they have reached full size
and are beginning to turn color. Some varieties are resisitant  to
cracking. The best way to avoid such a problem is to keep the moisture
supply as even in the summer as possible.
