Anybody got an opinion on whether it would make sense or not to nip
off my growing vines on
my winter squash. My thinking is that any more flowers that get pollinated
now will never have
enough time left to mature now in our short season (zone 5) and I'd like
the plants to concentrate
all their energies on the fruit that I now have. Should I just concentrate
on nipping off all the
flowers? I always start nipping off all my flowers on tomato plants on
August 1st for our
climate- experience has shown anything after that date has no chance of
maturing anyway.
We have had a very unusual growing season with everything coming on very
early compared to
the norm.........we'll have corn very soon and that's almost unheard of
Montana. Thanks for
any opinions.
