Cook's Garden in Vermont has an excellent selection of heirloom and hybrid seeds--I ordered all my seeds from them this year (and my potatoes too!) Their number is 1-800-457-9703, fax 1-800-457 9705. They have a trillion varieties of lettuce, including varieties that perform well over the different seasons. I got a mixed lettuce package from them. It was expensive at 13.00, but the spring lettuce was early, my summer lettuce is only bolting after about two months, --we'll see how the fall and winter varieties do! Experimenting with different varieties is the best part of vegetable gardening, IMO! (well, maybe eating is the BEST part....)
