Re: Square Foot Planting Question

Toni- why don't you plant companion items with the main items. For my
tomatoes I planted two kinds of basil, some marigolds, nasturtium and
bee balm in the "overrun" rows. Or low growing plants that like shade.
With my brussel sprouts and cabbage I have camomile, dill, basil,
celery. With my peas and beans I have carrots, parsley, lovage and
marigolds.

Here are some neat companions according to the Colorado State Guide.
I can give you more if you are interested.

Vegetable Likes Dislikes:
Cucumbers Beans, corn, peas, radishes, sunflowers Potatoes, aromatic
herbs
Tomatoes Chives, onions, parlsey, marigold, potatoes, fennel, cabbage
                nasturtium, carrots, basil
Peas carrots, radishes, cukes, corn, beans Onion, garlic, potatoes
                most herbs

It's fun..... Sheryl
