Use wire cages. I've found 14" wide rolls in green or white at places such
as Home Depot. The green ones camouflage nicely with the garden; the white
ones will probably lower your property value. :-P

The Book (pp. 130, 134f) illustrates cages in use with the sides open, but i
prefer them with the top open, as it is easier (to me) to reach in to weed
and harvest:
  ________

/_______/||

|_|_|_|_|||

Other people mentioned that they plant low-growing crops near the beans with
no adverse effects. In my experience, however, the beans shaded out the
neighbors and didn't give them a chance to grow. I will continue to use cages.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for a *constructive* comment, for
a change.
