Asparagus Pea is Tetragonolobus purpureus -- a small, frost-sensitive crop
with nice, brown-red flowers (therefore also called "Coffee Pea") and
winged peas (-> "Winged Pea"). Don't seed before the last frost and harvest
the pods at a length of about one to one and a half inch, not more. The pods
are cooked for about 10 minutes in butter and a bit of water. The taste is
not enormous, but quite distinct.
Spacing in the SQFT garden: 2 per sqft. Do this by planting 2 seeds in the
diagonale of one square:

This spacing according to my experience here in Switzerland, a climate
comparable to coastal Maine or eastern Oregon.
