list duplication problems, admin note


Folks, I haven't yet been able to reach the listserv
software expert, since it's a weekend; I just hope he
isn't on vacation! In the meantime, I'll ask everyone
again to PLEASE not use the Reply function and absolutely
DO NOT CC: sqft@lists.umsl.edu, until I can find out
what's going wrong. If you want to reply to a message,
just start a fresh message and if you know how to
use copy-n-paste with your email package, use it
(maybe with lines like ----Replied-to message--- )
to include the message you are replying to.

I am sorry for the inconvenience. It seems clear to me
that this may not be the fault of any member of the list,
but rather a technical glitch. It is certainly clear that
it is not a deliberate attack on the list by anyone.

Until I know what's causing it, I have two choices:
1. temporarily disable the list completely
2. ask people not to reply and hope they comply.
I would rather not do 1 if 2 temporarily solves the
mailbox-flooding crisis. So please everyone comply!
