Re: cinder blocks -- newbie's ?
Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Chris and all -
delurking to provide another newbie's experience with first year gardening.
This was my first year, and I decided to use cinderblocks as well. My local
block company provided what they call #2 block, not suitable for some
building applications, for 50 cents each!
I used two levels and initially placed them around the garden with the hole
side up. I quickly decided to lay some of them on their sides, flat side
up, after sitting on the edge to do some planting.... ouch!
All the soil preparation, amendments, and sifting the soil truly helped my
garden, tho it was a lot of work in the beginning. My sq ft garden provided
so much more than dh's "regular" garden.
Enjoy!
