Sounds like something we have here in Northern, VA that I was told is an 
assian bug - the bite hurts like He** said the carpenter who told me what 
they are - they have another name also can't remember it.  I have never seen 
it with baby bugs - and they are bigger then 1" more like an 1" tall and a 
couple of inches long - up to 3 or 4 even (I'm guessing, I have not stopped 
to measure one!).  They are good at climbing and "stick" to the walls - they 
look like the just walk right up.  I often see them on the second story 
window screens.
