Amy,
Tater'Mater is out of business, but you can get Green Zebra seeds from
Shepherd's, Tomato Growers Supply and many other catalogs. It's almost
become mainstream. Banana Legs and hundreds of other unusual tomatoes can
be found in the Tomato Growers Supply catalog. Some lovely ones that I have
grown and saved seed from include:
Southern Night--black, deteminate potato leaf
Garden Peach--small, peach colored and FUZZY and fruity taste. Good keeper, too.
Wonder Light--yellow, looks just like a lemon
Ibis Candy--cherry type that is bi-colored: lavender and yellow. New this
year. I have not grown this, but I'm ordering seeds, because my friend Dr.
Carolyn Male who grows thousands of heirloom tomatoes says she provided the
seed and it's good.
Silvery Fir Tree--5-6 oz. orangy-red tomato on plants that have foliage
that resembles carrot tops. Determinate and grows only to about 24-30
inches. Good for flower beds and pots.
These are just a few. If you are a tomato lover, get the Tomato Growers
Supply catalog. I can vouch for the seed purity and good service.
BTW, Merry Christmas to all. I'm off to play in the snow up north and visit
my grandson.
