Unless you consider that X is the unknown quantity and a spurt is a
drip under pressure, I am far from expert on any of this green thumb
business. So, consider the source and take it for what it's worth. I
planted potatoes in my compost pile this past year and did pretty good.
I don't know how close I was on the pH, but all the others factors were
fairly close. Maybe that's why it worked.
