>I grow about 25 Tri Star strawberry plants in a 4'X6' bed.
That is enough for me to pick about 1/2 a basket of
strawberries 5 mornings a week.
*Jan, I REALLY liked all the data you gave. Age, Qty, #,
reliability, etc. THIS should be an example to try to follow.
I read Sooooo much about plants, but RARELY do I find a book
or perosn who says, 2-3 plants will be enough for a family,
unless you can... or Qty per plant, unless we want to check
plant spacing and check professional digests of the
per acre amount per varietal.
I grow only two-crop, Sequoia and Quinalt. I do get a few
runners which it is said rarely occcurs w/Sequoia. Plenty
of division with Quinalt, but am beginning to like the
off the ground-ness of Sequoia, because Strawberries
are fussy that way (crown depth) and I'm sometimes unable
to plant and keep the soil as I wish, as I do everthing.
Tell me of your soil, the additions you use annually,
and if you use hill/raised row or what. Pleaseeee.
When time allows.
Bill
