This is what we finally resorted to doing. I was for it all along but my partner thought it would be a pain to have to move the row cover all the time. Big bonus w/ row cover is that it helps seedlings stay warmer and keeps some of the nasty bugs away. We also found that it's a good place to release some lady bugs. They can crawl out if they are starving, but the cover keeps them from immediately flying away. And after last year, our first using soaker hoses, we've decided that is definitely the way to go. >I have the same problem, Kim. The two cats are my own.
