You might try using hemp or twine to make loops around the teepee, kind
of like a hoop skirt. I would agree with planting one plant per stake
and trimming off the suckers. I trellis my tomatoes and always trim off
the suckers. I haven't noticed any difference in yield, but it looks
neater. Your 'maters should be easy to train up the pole.
