Re: Introduction, gardening conundrum

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Holly,

My sister and brother-in-law raised quite a garden in children's wading
pools, when they lived in an apartment, including tomatoes, and cucumbers.
I don't think lettuce has terribly deep roots, so you probably wouldn't
have much problem there, either. Flowers would make a nice edging for the
"beds."

I personally have successfully raised tomatoes in 5 gallon pails, which can
be had cheap/free from grocery stores with a bakery or deli, ask for a
frosting bucket or pickle bucket. You might supplement your reading of
Square Foot Gardening with a good book on Container Gardening, there are a
number around, I'd say check your local library.

Happy Gardening!
Dawn G.
who is only dreaming of gardening, as I listen to the snow being blown
against the window! Four months before I can plant anything outdoors, and
5 months before I can plant anything that isn't frost hardy!
