>The Sunset zones, established by Sunset Books, are the most useful for
>the Western states but lass so for the Eastern US. The zones consider
>winter lows, summer highs, length of growing season, humidity, rainfall
>patterns, latitude, elevation, continental air influence, and local
>terrain.
>Olin, a question about this. If the USDA zones are about winter lows,
and the AHS zones are about summer highs, wouldn't the Sunset zones
be the most useful, even for eastern states, since it appears to
consider both at once?

--------------------------------------
I think they're called Sunset Western, for cause.
None the less... An option for someone to use one method,
OR another is nice. With a speadsheet, I put in all.
Then I do an auto-average. This, is MY preference.
Others, would want a high, a low. Then some would and some
wouldn't, want to be able to include their OWN data.
This is the hassle. For a car to have a cigarette lighter
in 1975 it cost 50 cents. To make it an option cost $10.
All the documentation. Each guy/car had a different part,
different wiring harness, etc. Inventory...
But me, I want it my way. And tomorrow, I want to
change my mind. And my spreadsheet. So with Excel,
I save it, and copy (now a new feature is called "version,")
and add a row or column. Later, I can delete it, or add
another. I usually add. It takes me a while to decide
if a feature isn't "key." Even so, I want it, just
subliminally, but I want it.
I have to have the ability to adjust. A compiled package
program I can't change to suit me w/o an upload and
download is too basic, for me. I want to have a convertible.
Not a hard top. Nor open. Changable at a whim and a
few minutes thinking and a hour's fudging because
I am not a pro.
