Well it is not as easy to guage temp with seeds as my homebrew because
liquids hold their heat better than air. I put a sticker thermometer (find
at local pet store) on a covered ball jar full of water. Then put the jar
in heated seed starting area to get a rough idea what the air temp has
averaged over the day. Then I fiddle with the location of blanket (or timer
etc.) to moderate temp. Of course, if someone opens the bulkhead or garage
door .. you get a rapid change in temp. So go for a somewhat closed area.
I never have complete success but the overall psychological benefit of green
things in February is worth it.
