I use "templates" made from old corrugated box material. They measure 2 ft. by 4 ft. I have a "set" of them on which I have laid out the various plant spacings. I have punched small holes at the plant locations. I have written on each, the plants to which they apply. A template is placed in the corner of a square and an ice pick or large nail inserted through one hole at a time to mark the location. If more than 2 squares are to be planted, a line is drawn along the edge of the template to aid in relocation. This leaves small, but visible, marks at each plant location, when the template is removed. I then poke my finger in each of these marks to make them more visible. The templates have lasted for 4 seasons. oldjohn@juno.com John Orwick El Monte, CA On Sat, 4 Jan 1997 23:48:44 -0500 Kurt McCullum <KDMcCullum@AOL.COM> writes: >Last year was my first year using square foot gardening.
