This is what the local garden club used in our park for two gardens. Nothing
of great size mind you, but they replaced the rotting rail wood ties with
cinderblocks. Mostly a shade/"hosta" garden. It's easily maintained and it
looks nice. They found concrete tops to finish the holes off. It looks quite
nice. I could take a digital picture of it and send it to anyone that would
like to see it.

The subject of PT wood comes up every year. I'm not organic and do not wish
to start a flame war here, but can anyone offer proof that using PT wood has
caused any health problems in anyone? Is Mel aware of any problems, and
wouldn't we hear about it????

My 2 X 10's are going on 5 years now and are doing fine. The longer beds, I
used 8 footers for some blocks, have warped slightly, but other than that, the
raised beds are fine. Somewhere on a disk, I have a file on the testing of
chemicals used to treat PT wood leaching into the beds. The abbreviated
version is there's not a problem. I'll let the list know when I find the
file. I think PT wood gets a bad wrap without justification.

I've also seen vinyl planking, don't know anyone using it though, maybe
someone can offer a better solution.
