Re: Plant Sources

Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hi Laura,

I would lean to that your soil is improved and that is why everything is
growing much better, congratulations! It's nice to see an effort
pay-off, amending soil is a big effort in my book. I have a few borders
I keep staring at knowing that they have to be "fixed

A lot of seed companies do get their seeds from farmers and the pansy
seeds you get from burpees may have come from the same source as the
pansy seeds that you get from Shepherds. If you see an obscure variety
offered in a few different catalogues (or on the various seed racks) you
can pretty much reckon that they're seeds grown from virtually the same
cropper, but merely are in different merchants packaging.

I am a seed trader and I usually get the vast majority of my seeds from
fellow gardeners (seed trading is a fabulous source for so many
different and sometimes rare varieties, you should try it (quite
addictive too...it's just like Pokeman: you gotta get them all, LOL!) I
will give a nod to some seeds I got at Kmart with Martha Stewart's name
on them. I bought a few different varieties of her brand of seeds and
they all had great germination and are growing very well. I am
particularly interested in watching the lumina and baby boo pumpkins
grow, I'd like to use the baby boos at T'giving for a table
presentation.......put one, tied with a beautiful bow, at each place
setting. My family can each take them home afterwards.
