Square Foot Gardening List - http://myweb.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Thanks Margaret.- I am not a bean nut anyways- and I love the floiage that
is creating a temporary hedge so I can liive with few beans. Want to try
scarlet runners next year on the trllis going up the side of the carport-
sound lovely form what I hear. Just discovered banana wax peppers growing
under the kale and a few bells that look promising hiding under the patty
pans.I love those patty pans and the other suprize was how sweet the roly
poly auchinni were. So far not enough vegies for a crowd- but enough to make
me feel that this experiment is teaching me something. Will do many things
different this fall and next year. Transplanted a bridhouse goard into the
place where the peas were and hope it survives. Compost from early fall is
reay and spread a layer over all the beds and topdressed with oakleaves that
were partically composted - seems to help keep the moisture in. The raised
beds are harder to keep watered but very easy to keep weeded. Next year I
hope to add two more beds nd to utilize and upright structures more.I want
to do more of the Mix of flowers and vegies that Mel shows on the
website.Morning glories are growing up the corn stalks and the sunflowers
have started to shade the cukes. Hope they like this. So much fun and
learning so much. Planted some fall vrops from seed in flats last week and
trying to keep[ them moist is a full time job. Hoping to keepp these beds
busy year round.-I planted 4 oclocks in between some of the crops and they
are ready to bloom. They fill in the garden nicely and hopefully they will
attract bees to help the pollination process. Just hope it isnt too
late.-Teri
