Never

Female flowers have a small fruit which resembles the adult fruit at the
blossom stem. Males don't. Believe this is true of all cucurbits.

Good substitute for spinach but not as strong. Easier to grow. Can be
used raw as a lettuce substitute or as garnish. One of my favorite
vegetables.
