Given that pressure treated wood is supposed to leak bad chemicals, I don't
want to use that. The people at the local hardware store say nothing else will
last more than a year. I would love to make some raised boxes before the
summer ends, but don't know what to use. I would love any ideas. Thanks,
I used 2 x 10s so far they have lasted 4 years..and look almost new
my bed is a U shape with the legs being 16 ft long x 3 ft wide and the backbone being 16ft long x 4 ft wide...and a separate box 9 x 3 in the center (that left a 3ft wide path all around the boxes)
So far this year I've harvested lots of strawberries (all gone now) and lettuce/spinach, green onions, and garlic I planted last year...oh yes lots of herbs (for some reason they are going crazy). My tomatoes, zucchini, cantaloupe, eggplant, and peppers are growing...but no fruit yet.
