Landscape fabric will deteriorate rather quickly in the sun. I like bark
nuggets (3 or 4-inch chunks, not mulch) between my wood-framed raised beds.
I put it down at least 5 years ago and it still looks and works great. I
like that it can be walked on right after a rain without getting my shoes
caked with mud. I guess what you use will depend in part on what kind of
traffic the paths will get--feet, wheelbarrows, wheelchairs, etc.
