I have a couple questions from a beginning gardener that I was hoping somebody could help me with: 1. My cucumber vines have been growing wonderfully. They took off all by themselves and are twisting up the trellis with little help from me. They were covered with blossoms a week or two ago but now all the blossoms have fallen off and I don't see any signs of cucumbers. Is this a problem? Could the heat have something to do with this? We have been up in the 80s recently. 2. In contrast, my tomatoes are setting tons of fruit. I can't wait!! However I noticed that some of the lower leaves are turning brown and there is some white spiderwebby stuff on some stems. I know it's probably a type of mildew. How do I treat this? 3. After hand pollinating my zuchini, according to the directions I read here, I have two zuchini that are huge. How do I know when they're ready to be harvested? 4. Also, my spinach bolted so I ripped it up and now I'm ready to plant something else. Any suggestions for these hot summer months? Thanks for all your help!! I love having a resource for all my beginner questions and I've learned a lot!!
