Thanks Lisa- what I thought was strange was the zuchini didn't grow larger everywhere at once. It started at one end and ballooned up the fruit almost like when you blow up a balloon. Is this normal? >>> Lisa Springer <lspringer@MAIL.ALEXANDRIA.LIB.VA.US> 07/08/97 10:27am >>> Cheryl: If your zucchini is huge--it was time to pick it about a week ago! Zucchini gets large VERY rapidly. Pick them when they are the size of small cucumbers--take a look in your local grocery store at their zucchini if you're still unsure. I used to have someone working in my office who fed my large zucchini in pieces to her oscar fish --she said they gulped them like chicken. But generally, humans prefer their zucchini small and tender. Be ready to pick them VERY frequently--zucchini produce sort of like bunnies do! Happy Eating! Lisa (Who just planted zucchini, and know I've gone nuts again--but I do love them!)
