A good source of material for borders are small saw mills in local
communities. I Have several in my area and they are glad for me to take
the slabs off their hands. Slabs are the bark side that is cut away.
The outside tends to be rounded with a smooth flat side on saw side of
the slab. You usually can find anywhere from 6 to 8 feet of board that
is about an inch thick. It makes your bed look like it is made of logs.
In the south you can usually find cyprus or cedar easily.
Just a suggestion for those who are on a budget.
