Blossom end rot can be prevented by applying lime to the soil--but the lime
takes several months to take effect. For the short term you might try
mulching to even out the water supply. I don't know how well that works, but
it can't hurt.

I've heard rumors of the existence of a quick acting calcium product. Anyone
else have any experience with this?
