Yummy! Fried green tomatoes, fried zucchini, and fried yellow squash all
make the garden a worthwhile adventure in themselves!!!
We have fixed all of the above since I was a little girl at home.
We simply slice the vegie to the thickness you'd like (I like mine thin,
but definitely no thicker than 1/4"). Rinse slices and shake or let drain
to remove excess water. Dredge in flour, salt, and pepper mixture. Fry in
large skillet using oil or our choice--few pats of butter (makes them
really nice and golden brown) and few pats of butter-flavored Crisco. You
may have to add butter/Crisco as the flour will soak it up. Drain on paper
towels and serve hot. Melt in your mouth delicious!!!
Enjoy!
Kristine
