"Compost tea" question

Hi all,

I have made my compost tea and will soon be ready to use it.  I remember that 
the original instructions said to use a 9:1 water to tea ratio and spray on 
plants.  My question:  Can I put this in my watering can and use it or do it 
need to use a sprayer?
