It's not really safe. Nicotine is a deadly poison. The mix will kill
*everything*,
including beneficial insects. There's no quality control to be had here, no
testing for effects on plants...ugh. I sure as heck wouldn't use this stuff on
edibles.
You may as well use carbaryl (Sevin). At least it's cheaper than the tobacco/
mouthwash/soap combo.
There are far safer methods to use against aphids, wasps, ants and chiggers
than this stuff. Insecticidal soap, boric acid and plain ol' water come to
mind.
Jerry Baker is a charlatan with no horticultural credentials, and his recipes
are not only more expensive, but can be dangerous to yourself and your
plants.
