If you are referring to the Organic Gardening article where
Mel tells how to grow 64 corn plants in a 4x4, he suggested using Early Sunglow
or Butterfruit because they are short, and manageable and can give two ears per
stalk. I've researched the archives of this list and others, and very few
people have had success with more than one plant per 2/3 sq. ft.
I'm interested in seeing your results. Good luck, and
remember that you must provide lots of nutrients and water for this to
work.
