Re: pumpkin pollination


Ah ha! I was out this morning with a paint brush all set to pollinate 
(before I read your message) and discovered that the flowers were 
indeed different. I didn't notice the little fruit behind the flower, 
but the rest of the flower structure was different enough that I 
realized that I had a boy and a girl on my hands. I painted the girl 
with some pollen so I hope to actually have fruit by Halloween.

Aren't I just around the corner from you Margaret? I'm in McLean. 
Supposed to be 97 degrees today. Hazy. Humid.
