>Thanks for the info!! One question: what is summer oil? > >Ron My understanding... Summer oil is basically horticultural oil that has had the sulphur removed. This prevents burning of the plants and allows the oil to be used during the growing season (i.e. during the summer, hence the name "summer oil"). When I went looking in the garden center, I generally saw two different labels on the various oils they had. Some were labelled as "dormant" oils. These are oils that have not had the sulphur removed and should not be used while a plant is actively growing. Others were labelled as being usable during the growing season. These are the summer oils. Hope this helps. - Vickie Maryland, zone 7 >*************************************************************************** >To unsubscribe, send to: listserv@umslvma.umsl.edu >the body message: unsubscribe sqft >See http://www.umsl.edu/~silvest/garden/sqft.html for archive, FAQ and more. *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe, send to: listserv@umslvma.umsl.edu the body message: unsubscribe sqft See http://www.umsl.edu/~silvest/garden/sqft.html for archive, FAQ and more.
