Our cucumber plants are blooming and I need to know since I'm a first year gardener if cucumber self pollinates or if you must do it by hand like squash with male and female blooms. Can anyone help me? I posted this a few days ago and got no response whatsoever! Also, our container tomatoes don't seem to be setting fruit while the ones in the square foot plots are doing wonderfully--is this some deficiency due to the containers and if so, what should we add to help them out?
