Cucumbers are not self pollenating as far as I know. I have to
pollenate my squash by hand but not my cukes because there are enough
flowers on a cuke to attract insect pollenators.
As for tomatos setting fruit, I have been told that it is a mineral
deficiency, but the particular mineral names varies... no hard
information either way, I still use Tomato Set spray...
