Yeah, I was pretty impressed with 4th of July myself; I picked my first
ripe one a week ago, and a big mess of 'em today. Some have criticized
the flavor of the fruit, but I myself agree that it's excellent - kinda
like a large cherry tomato. I had a big bowl of cottage cheese and
tomatoes that I grew today (the tomatoes, not the cheese) and loved every
moment of it.
If you ask me, Burpee's scored a big winner with this one.
BTW - I sympathize about the problems you had with wind - we've had
vicious winds this spring as well. Fortunately, they came when my tomato
plants were too small to be seriously damaged.
