Dan at the web site you mentioned below is very helpful and
knowledgeable.  Everything you need to know about rhubarb and much more.


Just for info, there is a variety of rhubarb that has been bred to get
over the summer dormancy trait - rhubarb stops producing after about
June / July.  The late producing variety is called Livingstone and worth
looking out for to extend the rhubarb picking season beyond early
summer.  

And before you ask I grow mine at two and a half foot centres (six
varieties rhubarb - special bed).  I suppose you could cram them four
plants into a four by four square.  

BTW There are more than one hundred and one varieties to choose from -
not many people know that. . .
