there was a certain amount of discussion on moles earlier in the year.
You may be able to update from an archive.
Moles produce hills. They hate light. If there is an open hole, that
you can look down / look inside, it almost certainly means that it is
something else.
Mice occasionally use disused mole holes - making entrances where the
mole hole has fallen in. Don't discount rats as a possible hole maker.
Disappearance of onions probably points to yet something else.
