>What are advantage/disadvantage in planting from seed vs. sets. When
you plant one of these little onions that all the garden stores are
selling, does this just grow and eventually you harvest it or does it
spread and multiply? Cheri
80 for $1.99. Red, yellow, and white. How many seeds in a pack, times what,
90% if you don't mess them up? And I'll "GUESS," they save a month of
growing. I've not bothered to do seed, for these reasons, and easy planting
too. Almost like transplanting to me. Some onions give sets, atop their end
leaves at season's end, or seed.
Here, the Masters can take over. I can only offer VanZerden's address and
that their size#! babes. look a tad larger, a tad nicer, and have better
instructions than, the Easy Grow I have seen. Got mine at Home Depot.
Seed being a buck plus a pack, for a little home gardener who worries about
seed rot, and in the pasthave been late starting, the near-transplant size is
attractive to me.
