Re: Tom in 1 Sq F

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

I did this last year...made a lovely twenty-foot "hedge" of tomato vines, each pruned to a
single stem. It looked lovely and we got lots of tomatoes. I hadn't paid close attention to
previous tomato efforts so I can't speak to Bill's pronouncement on yield. We did have
several varieties and we had a good summer's worth of tomatoes. In my *very* space-limited
garden it was the only way to get tomatoes in at all, plus it took advantage of a narrow
strip of sunny soil. 'd recommend it for people who need to conserve space. When I do it
this year I'm going to do a better job of feeding them...seems like they could use a little
nutrient boost, being squished so close together.
