Garbage Cans for Water

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

>I was going to try sturdy plastic garbage cans - the kind
with wheels. I can't see much of a difference between that and the
commercial rain barrel, other than the spout at the bottom.
AND it will be easier to move with those wheels as long as
I don't let it fill all the way up. If anyone can think of a reason not
to use a garbage can let me know.

*33x7.48=246.84 lbs.
50 lbs / 7.48 is 6.68 gallons.
Retail cans are not too beefy. Garbage is usually limited to a poundage as
well as gallonage. Fil 1/5 to 1/4 only if moving. I would NOT use wheeled
kind. They are NOT symmetrical.. Symmetry adds strength. Rubbermade DOES
make identical models for industry. Any school cafeterial or janitorial
service can get tehse. They are really tough!!! Not cheap tho. I would use
$10 ROUND Rubbermade, and limit to 2/3rds full.
