well, depends on the depth of the container & the length/depth of the
roots of the plants. Lettuce will (practically) grow in a saucer,
whereas tomato plants' roots go very deep! Somewhere I saw a chart of
root depths of verious veggies, but haven't been able to find it
recently. Anybody know of a source of one? On this same subject, how
deep a container does Swiss Chard need?
