Ha! I grew up in the North and was quite a "snow-snob" for the first few
years of living in Texas. Then my blood thinned. Now I look outside
pitifully whenever there is a threat of snow and check the pantry tomake sure
I have enough provisions to endure the unthinkable cold!
Seriously, though, we have had an unseasonably warm late February and had
about 2 weeks of temps in the upper 50's to upper 70's. Of course, every
spring bulb and flowering bush and tree were totally out-foxed and are
blooming gaily. Today is light sleet - which is a bit of a shock to the
system when one was sweating in shorts and a t-shirt working in the yard on
Monday! I will happily choose a brief chill over ground that won't stay
still as those of you in the Pacific Northwest have found! Hope everyone who
lives there or has family and friends in the area have come through ok.
